Welcome to the cabinet of curiosities - a predecessor to modern-day museums, these hidden rooms full of wonderful objects were a common occurrence in Renaissance Europe. Kurios represents Cirque du Soleil's bold venture to reimagine these cabinets of wonder for the stage, blending 19th-century industrial aesthetics with fantastical retrofuturism. The set is filled with marvelous innovations like Klara the Telegraph, Nico the Accordion man, and a giant Mechanical hand that doubles as a platform for contortionists.

The Story

In the midst of our busy lives where the doors of imagination are closed to face the dark realities of our world, the Seeker runs abound with hope for another world beyond his curio cabinet. When his collection mysteriously awakens, led by the peculiar Mr. Microcosmos and his miniature companion living in his mechanical belly, his humble workshop transforms into a universe of wonders.

Under the Big Top, Neu Marx

The Big Top is Cirque du Soleil’s traveling venue, seating approximately 2500 spectators under a yellow-blue tent. Just as people say, it takes a village, approximately 100 people, to raise the make-shift space that acts as a stage for some of the company’s best acts. In Vienna, it is hosted at New Marx - an upcoming space for businesses and technology near the city’s center.
